Procreate is a powerful digital art tool that allows artists to create intricate and detailed illustrations. One of the key features of Procreate is the ability to group multiple layers together, keeping your artwork clean and organized. In this article, we will discuss how to group layers in Procreate and how to name a group of layers to stay organized.
To get started, we have to go to the Layer menu and select all layers we want to group together. First, select the first layer that you will be grouping. Then, to select the rest of the layers, swipe each of them to the right. You will notice that these layers turned light blue, which means they are now selected. When you select multiple layers, the “Group” and “Delete” options appear on the top right of the Layers panel menu. Tap “Group” to combine your selected layers into a group. You will notice that all the selected layers are now in a folder. To view the group’s content, use the arrow at the right to expand or collapse the group at any time.
Naming is extremely important as it will keep you stay organized. To name a group, tap on the “New Group” and then click “Rename.” Now type in the desired name, and tap it off anywhere on the screen to finish naming. This will make it much easier to find specific layers or groups of layers when working on larger projects.
In conclusion, Layer Group is an excellent feature that will help you keep your artwork well-organized and clean. For example, you can group together layers that are associated with the same element in your artwork. This makes it easy to make changes to specific elements without affecting the rest of your artwork.
